​The Mountain Bass Experience DJ Competition is BACK AGAIN!
We are launching our DJ Competition for the chance to win a slot to perform at The Mountain Bass Experience 2025, alongside a host of support artists and headliners! We are now accepting submissions of 20min dnb sets by non established djs only, until the 16th of March. The winner will be given the opportunity to play a set supporting one of our headlining acts and other supporting artists during The Mountain Bass Experience event 2025 in the stunning Picos de Europa National Park, Spain.

WHY PARTICIPATE?
The Mountain Bass Experience is a not-for-profit private members club event supporting the MBMC ethos. One of our aims is to support new and emerging talent gaining visibility, networking opportunities and relevant contacts as well as providing a unique platform to be creative, inspired and execute new musical ideas. On both prior editions, the winners of the DJ competition did JUST that! Steve LP and Miss Gray had incredible opportunities to play, develop and grow as performers, with each artist producing very specific deliverables. Read and hear below about their experiences!

Steve LP

As part of his prize, Steve chose the opportunity to play in support of Keeno´s Courage EP launch video for UKF on Air, literally, perched on the side of a chilly mountain, to a group of dedicated attendees who braved the weather, making it an incredibly memorable moment! Steve LP has since played in support of Keeno Music events back in the UK as well as returning for The Mountain Bass Experience 2024 edition, where he supported Etherwood, Riya and Voice MC at yet another very special mountain location!
Miss Gray
Miss Gray's talent is just as undeniable as recently found! With less than 1 year of experience "under her belt”, she won the 2024 Mountain Bass Experience DJ competition seamlessly, which granted her a place supporting Etherwood, Riya, Voice MC and Document One as well as performing with a small group of local and international female dnb DJ's at our very special “Ladies Circle”!!
Aside from playing with and in support of other artists of all levels, networking, getting advice and making new contacts, the whole journey was truly inspirational to write her very first EP, “Rise”. Competition Full Terms & Conditions
We're constantly looking for new, emerging talent that would appreciate and benefit from industry connections and the opportunity to perform alongside some of the world's biggest names in drum and bass ! One way we do this is by our DJ competition which is a non biased opportunity based purely on your own talent. We don't look at social media, who you are, how many followers you have, we just listen to a mix and pick the best!

Eligibility:
1. Any non established DJ (if the DJ is under 18 years old, they'll need to be accompanied by an adult at the event)​
2. Follow us on Instagram, share our Instagram post, tag at least 5 friends and say why you want to perform at MB 2025 to be considered.​​
3. Submission Deadline: 16th of March.​
4. Winner Announcement: 30th March.​
5. Set description: 20 min dnb set in line with the location and ethos of the event (see previous line ups!). You can submit multiple sets.​
6. Format: Send us an email to mountainbass.ad@gmail.com with a link to a youtube video, soundcloud, mixcloud, etc. or an mp3 or wav file.
Selection Criteria:
- We will only consider the first 20min of the set, if a longer set is submitted
- Overall technical ability, transitions and mixing skill
- Music selection, alignment with the event ethos, surroundings and other artists (see previous editions’ line up for inspiration)

Winners prize:
The winner will earn a slot to play a set at The Mountain Bass Experience 2025, Pico's de Europa, between the 9th and 13th of June. The winner will be asked for their choice of preferred time, date and DJ to support with their set, which we will do our best to cater for but cannot guarantee. The winner will be entitled to rider on the event of their set. The winner will also have full access to the whole event.

Not included:
​
Due to the not-for-profit nature of this event and its current development stage, we cannot offer to pay for the expenses incurred by the competition winner in order to be present at the event. The winner will be, in its entirety, responsible for their travel, sustenance and accommodation throughout the event. However, we will provide our full support to facilitate the best deals available, to team up with other support artists or club members and make the winner´s trip as feasible, cheap and fulfilling, as possible. We fully believe that all DJs should be paid but, due to the nature and stage of the event, it is currently unfeasible to do so as we are still unable to have paid staff. The value we offer to contestants is the opportunity for someone to be a part of what we do and experience a platform to be seen, get support and make connections in an amazing place.
